Flowed Epoxy Floors

Look of stone, durability of epoxy

Interior spaces like basements,  mudrooms, and mancaves can be transformed with a flowed metallic epoxy floor.  Every flowed epoxy floor is completely unique.  As the name implies, we pour the epoxy on the prepared floor and allow gravity to work it magic. The epoxy flows around, leaving very fluid designs.  With dozens of metallic colors to chose from, the finish of your new floor can be as unique as you and your space.

Check out some flowed floors in the gallery below or reach out to learn more about a flowed epoxy floor for your space.

How it Works

  1. The floor is prepped using the same grinder and prep tools as our traditional flake floors.
  2. The base coat is put down in a matching color to the metallic colors chosen.
  3. The flowing layer is next.  We pour the metallic epoxy on the floor and tool it around, then gravity takes over and the colors flow and blend.
  4. A protective top coat is installed to lock in the floor and protect it from damage.

Things to Consider

A flowed epoxy floor can be a beautiful addition to your indoor space, however, there are some considerations you should know about metallic epoxy before you jump in to a flowed metallic epoxy floor project:

  1. Flowed floors use about four times as much epoxy as a traditional triple layer flake floor. Starting at $12 a square foot, they are more than a flake epoxy floor, but are still competitive with other high-end flooring finishes.
  2. Each floor is unique, and though we will work with you to pick out your colors and the overall feel of your floor, the finish will be completely custom and determined by the flow-out of the epoxy.
  3. The protective top-coat is UV stable, but the flowed layer is sensitive to direct UV exposure and will discolor if it is regularly exposed to unfiltered sunlight, making this a great epoxy flooring basement option.
